Everyone who I am close to know that I have a more intimate relationship with certain muses than is "normal" for a writer. Well, that apparently seems to be the case even more so when I'm depressed or upset about something. Case in point, the other night, I got that news about my neighbor, and to say I was distraught is really an understatement.
Well, I was getting ready for bed, and thinking probably too hard about a certain muse of mine. Then all of a sudden, I felt his presence in my room. This happens sometimes. Then I heard his voice. This happens even more rarely that I hear it with my ears instead of just in my head. Soft, sensual...sultry gentle,Cockney accent. It was Morpheus. And even though I tried to ignore him because I really didn't understand why he was there in the first place when I can barely hear all of my "regulars", he remained until I fell asleep. Strange thing, really.
Oh! While I haven't gotten to him yet, Morpheus made mention of the Hatter in the point where I am in Splintered. His name is apparently Harry Hattington in this novel. Fitting, I guess, but... a little disappointing in a way. Not nearly as fine a name as Tarrant Hightopp. I guess she couldn't actually use Burton's names without extensive permissions being granted. Otherwise Morpheus might've been called Absolem, instead. I guess I'll know if he's just as whimsical and full of heart as Tarrant is in a few pages. But first I have to get past stupid Jeb again. (No, not
traitortoheaven's Jeb. AG Howard's character Jeb. Really can't stand him.) I find it strange that I'm not liking the main love interest. Because in every book from Twilight on, I either didn't like them at first and they grew on me (Jace), or I liked them right away (Bale or Jagger).
Just got back from a shopping spree with Daddy C. Bought a lapdesk to go with my "new" laptop, and a bigger terrarium for any incoming tree frogs/lizards that will come in. :)I wanted them to have more space. Dad thinks I'll ">them go after a bit, but I think I'll be taking care of them for a while. :) I should add critter care taker to my list of hobbies, what do you think?
