Wheel of Time Blogging Project
May. 18th, 2019 08:29 amSo I've decided to start blogging my experience reading the Wheel of Time series. I usually talk things over with my friend Alex on Discord, but there is something fun about being able to share it with more than one person. So this entry is a bit of an introduction to what you can expect to see in these entries, and what you won't see.
First thing's first. There may be some spoilers as I describe reactions to certain events and certain characters. If you don't care about the spoilers, good. But if you're planning to read the books, I'd suggest watching for the spoiler warning. I usually will make this bold. I will try and avoid the spoilers as much as I can, but when I get excited about something, I have a tendency to accidentally give things away. So I'm going to apologize upfront before anyone is shocked. ,
Secondly, you will definitely hear a lot of character gushing. Because I am an author, my favorite aspect of the craft is character development and creation. There is nothing that draws me into a story easier than a well-written character that I can easily imagine. They usually end up becoming some form of a muse for me and my own creation if they're really well done. Since this is technically a re-read for me (my short term memory is the only thing that stops this from being completely familiar to me), I already have reconnected with Matrim Cauthon, who is Robert Jordan's equivalent to Peregrine Took (aka Pippin). And of course there is Rand Al'Thor. Rand and Mat were my first muses from this first novel that I remember, and I remember Rand's name because it was so unique. I think there is another literary Rand that I ran into at some point, but don't ask me where.
My first entry is going to be up in a couple of days. So I hope some of you will join me on my journey through The Wheel of Time series!!
