Honestly not that I mind the occasional all-nighter, but when it follows a day where I know I'm gonna consume a bunch of caffeine, I shouldn't try to go to bed so early, or let myself give in to such nonsense. I went to bed at around 10 last night (missing the comeback of my favorite actor from The Good Doctor, to boot! As pissed as I am at Hulu in conjunction with Warner animation... I'm not sure really who's to blame for the fuck up that was Season 3 and/or the cancellation of my babies' show, but know you're NOT forgiven, thank GODs for it at the same time. I can still watch it later today see what Kalu has been up to.) But because I did that, I am wide awake. What. the. Hell. Seriously.

I had a pretty decent day yesterday though. So I wanted to tell you guys about it. Mom and i got to spend a couple of hours away from the house after crochet group. I went yarn shopping (I needed to start replenishing my variegated yarn supply along with getting yarn to start making presents for my nieces and nephew for Christmas. I didn't wanna be in the same position I was in last year where I was rushing to finish at the last minute in November.) We also went to lunch at Hardee's and I got this mushroom Swiss burger craving out of my system.

I got home and three hours later, my Nacelle Company Biker Mice from Mars order came in. The magnets are just amazing. I got one of each of the guys and one group shot. The group one, I am gonna turn into a pin for my ita bag because as of yet, there are no enamel pins for the guys. :( I am hopeful with the reboot pending that we will get people interested enough to create enamel pins.

But speaking of that reboot... Can I be candid here? I can? Good. We don't have a lot of information on it yet, but a part of me is feeling a bit nervous about it for a number of reasons. Even though the OG series came to me later than other 90s properties did, I feel extremely protective of it. I will acknowledge that is due in large part to the voice cast (and not just Rob anymore. I'm very fond of Ian Ziering's Vinnie, and can't picture anyone else even attempting the energy he put into the daredevil with a heart of gold. Not to mention Dorian Harewood, who provided our polite to ladies Modo. I know, I know. It's probably unlikely that all three of them will return. Hell, I don't even know what Dorian and Ian are doing these days. I do figure on Rob returning if officially asked and all things worked out. He has expressed some real enthusiasm for Throttle, and after his demonstration on February 18th at my request, I have all the faith in the world he'd be fine, with lots of water. (Is it unrealistic and overprotective of me to worry about his aftermath even though he's in remission from his throat cancer??). I wonder if Ian would want to reprise Vinnie... it's hard to tell from a cartoon, but with as much energy as he put into Vinnie, he sure seemed to enjoy the role...hmm. I don't know much about him outside of Beverly Hills 90210, and I'll be honest, Steve wasn't even a favorite character of mine. I was more Brandon or Dylan's fan. WHEN I could sneak a watch. Sadly, that show was deemed "too mature" for me when it aired. But make no mistake, I watched it when i could sneak an episode here or there, and i think I had the trading cards...or at least a couple of them.

(yes, this is going off topic, but let me just make this comparison: Mom wouldn't let me watch 90210 when it aired cause I was too young. that aired in 1990. In 1994, when Friends premiered 4 years later, she had NO problem. Now, granted, Friends never showed on-screen sex. One scene in Season 2 got close, but even then it faded to black. I can't recall any of 90210 doing this before getting graphic, and I know from later on YouTube searches that there were some heavy topics in that show. So I wonder if that, too, played a factor in Mom's censorship...but yeah. I just find that very interesting...lol)

But back to the reboot and voice actors reprising roles. We got lucky with Animaniacs. I have to remind myself of that. Cartoon reboots don't always get their original cast back, and hell, even Rimfire in the 2006 revival was recast (to Jess Harnell, but still a recast it was!). I'd like to think that any future cartoon reboots would learn from the success of Animaniacs establishing their cast as being paramount to the show, but there are factors beyond casting directors' control, too. Death, scheduling conflicts, things like that. I'm not naive, you guys, but I sure as hell can dream, right? I mena, if they're gonna bring back Greasepit, please recast Brand Garret. He is such a fucking riot to watch/listen to!

Okay, enough of that topic. I swear you guys are gonna be sick of Biker Mice From Mars soon. This is almost worse than my Heathcliff rewatch... but they weren't and still aren't, to my knowledge, talking about a reboot for that show, and I am absolutely certain I would not rewatch that one. Only 2 Catillac Cats voice actors remain, and no one can dare to replace Mel Blanc as Heathcliff. As much as I love Rob Paulsen and teasingly call him the second coming of the man of 1k voices, I know damn well Mel Blanc was a legend. and I envy the shit out of Rob cause he actually got to meet the man he gets compared to! LOL.

Currently, I have Yakko's World and Wakko's America on repeat in my ears. I think I've figured out a strategy for learning quicker parts of Yakko's World. I am gonna teach myself how to pronounce the countries I'm having trouble with. I know they say Rob had some kind of gift with this when he did it one take, but that doesn't mean I can't do a much better job than I have in the past trying to learn it right. It's my goal in life to learn this song in particular. Even if it's technically inaccurate now. If they ever released a quality version of the new version that was written with the corrections, I'd try that one, too. But as of yet, I haven't found one I like. Maybe when I finally do my talk with Rob in June I'll ask him. We'll see.

That's gonna scare the ever living SHIT out of me, you guys. I've tweeted with him for a good 3 years, and I have no idea how I'll act talking to him face to face. Clearly I admire him on a level I really can only put into words in so many ways. But the more I find out about how many of my "pretend friends" he played in my childhood, the more i'm convinced he was my unintentional guardian angel back then through these characters. Him and Charlie Adler for a long time. (Charlie voiced Buster, in case you're wondering, before he quit after he wasn't picked to be in Animaniacs, and I still have this eerie feeling he was gunning for the role of Yakko....this has never been confirmed.

Either way, he is my definitive Buster. and yes, I can tell the difference. I've always been good at that, actually. You should talk to Eric Stuart of Yu gi oh and Pokemon fame about that. For a long time in the early 2000s, Eric and I were penpals. and since he was doing the ADR work on the original YGO, I was able to chat with him about voice actors. First and foremost, I knew IMMEDIATELY Rex Raptor had a new voice actor doing the Doom/Doma saga, and he was incredibly impressed. I could also tell when one of the VAs had a cold or something was off. There was one episode where Weevil sounded different, and it turned out Jimmy Zoppi had been under the weather. He'd also applauded my ability to tell from one anime to another who was voicing who. Like Drew from Pokemon Advanced was voiced by the same guy who voiced Noa Kaiba. So yeah, I do have a bit of talent for this sort of thing. I think there was also a thing with Espa Roba, too, but I couldn't tell you for sure anymore...I've tried forever to figure out who voiced him, cause he's STILL my baby and his brothers are still my babies. <3

Okay, this has gotten incredibly winded, and I totally apologize, but I figured you guys would want to hear what's been going in my head. Don't forget to check out my Instagram Lives some time, too. There are some things there that I don't always put here. :)
