It's Tuesday, January 17th which means that Veronica Roth's newest book, Carve the Mark has been released! This is a new series she's writing, and I really can't wait to dig in! I love having Amazon Prime now. It's been a blessing for me to have when its the closest thing to instant gratification I can get around here sometimes. (I got lucky with Pokemon Moon!)
Today in Coloring Club, I got the number of one of my closer friends in the group, Susan. She is into Buddhism, and has been looking for a group to join. She's supposed to tell me if she finds one. Then we'll work on getting me there.
So let me explain a little bit about the place I live. I live in a gated community with mostly elderly people. There are a few younger people, probably closer to my age, but they work, and all of the activities are seemingly during the day so I don't get to meet them. The transportation situation is this: Cal takes me to coloring club and sometimes to knitting when I feel like going, but other than that, I'd have to rely on Uber, which, while not pricy in itself, can get pricey if I use it too often. Though I am considering using it to see a movie next month since I know Dad won't want to see this particular flick.
I know why they did it, and I am grateful, but I do wish the bus line ran closer to where I live. Then I Could go to more places, and meet more people, you know what I mean? Anyway.
After coloring club, I went to Wal-Mart with Mom (OMG, Yes, I actually got spend not-guilty time with Mom!)., and then we went to Hooters for lunch. I had a delicious Grouper sandwich.
Came home, put away the dishes and did some writing. I've been working on three different things over the course of the last couple of months. Tonight I worked on my elemental magic based dystopian. I can't wait to get to the exams. I haven't quite worked out what the exams entail so I might be sound boarding off of some friends for that because I don't want THOSE to be too much like Divergent or The Testing when so much of this was inspired by those two series. -sigh-
Then got my copy of Carve the Mark. Haven't started it yet. I have to get to page 100 in Yellow Brick War first. It's the last Dorothy Must Die novel until March. I'll read the novellas in February. But after I get to page 100 in that book, I'll start Carve the Mark. Veronica Roth is just an amazing human being. I could read her and Cassandra Clare every day of the week without getting bored. Danielle Paige is quickly becoming one to add to those ranks.
