Pokemon, Reading, and Migraines
Jan. 16th, 2017 01:49 pmSo I've played a lot of Pokemon the last few days. I am on the third island after a dear friend of mine gave me a level 43 pokemon to take care of Olivia's Lycanroc. Geezus that thing was a bitch. That Pokemon has really helped out of other jams, too, so thank you, Terri, for giving that little guy to me.
I did, I admit, start and get pretty far, on a Pokemon fanfic. I also got spoilers, so after the game is finished (I DO intend to finish this game), I will go back and edit/change some things. But at least for now it's quieting the muses. That's really all that matters. Loud muses make for very unproductive days for Zie. So at least I'm writing, and that's always good.
When I'm not Pokemon-ing or writing fic for that or other fandoms, I have been reading this wonderful series called Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige. I'm sure I've probably mentioned it here before. But just in case...EE! This series is everything you could want in a series based on the Oz books and the world of Oz. And it is turned so inside out you don't know who is good, and who is bad, which is why my Plurk user name is "Wicked is Good". It is a reference to those books. I love a story like that because it's unpredictable. Something awful happened in this book, but I'm not going to give out spoilers. I have people who read this journal who want to read the books.
I was stalled in finishing the second book and starting the third because on WEDNESDAY, I started with a migraine. It went away briefly Thursday but came back that night and lasted all the way to Friday late night. This was with medicine! I was *this* close to going to the ER for it. Instead, I called my doctor and made an appointment to see him about chronic migraines. This is just going on far too long. I hope he listens to me this time. >.>
I spent Sataurday in bed and slept all day. No, that's not an exxageration. I woke up long enough to get a drink and minimal food, but other than that, I slept. I didn't have the strength for anything. :(
So. I finally finished the last 100 pages of The Wicked Will Rise this afternoon and will be starting Yellow Brick War after I get some coloring in and read a bit more in Divergent. Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth (author of the Divergent series) comes in the mail tomorrow, and my goal was to be at least 100 or more pages into my Divergent re-read before then. (See above as to how that failed so fantastically).
Oh also, guys! I am still toying with the idea of opening a sandbox here on dreamwidth. Is anyone interested in playing with me? I have characters from...well, live action fandoms and book fandoms. But I could be convinced to play video game characters or some of my old anime characters, even. Maybe revive Declan (-eyes Lexi-) Anyway, I just thought I would mention it in case anyone was interested. ^__^
