I haven't made many entries about my writing lately, so I guess it's a little bit overdue. But I am excited about single thing I'm doing. So here goes:
In Fanfiction:
I am working on several Fanfictions right now. The biggest two for me The Magicians fanfic I cooked up after Season 1, and the Pokemon Sun/Moon fic that I am going to finish then refine after having finished most of that story line in the game (which I did the other day).
On top of those, I also have to finish my Dark Artifices fanfic, and The Librarians fic I started almost a year ago.
I also started toying around with my Roba fannovel again. Rather like how this version is coming out so far. Let's hope I don't make it so complicated that I forget where it's supposed to end up this time.
In Original Work:
I continue to struggle with my dystopian, and I have come close to scrapping it yet again and saying the Hell with it. But these characters won't let me go. Atlas and Essex want me to tell their story. I just can't seem to tell it correctly. I keep hoping that the more I read from my dystopian authors that inspired it in the first place something will click. So far this hasn't happened, though I do have a better handle on Atlas and Essex's initial feelings towards each other than I had before.
I sent an old short story to a friend last night, and she is encouraging me to lengthen it into a book. I am not sure there is enough story there to make a book, but she thinks there is. So I'm going to re-read the story, and see what I can expand on. She wants to see me really build up the world and do it in pieces instead of shoving it all into a short story. I can see her point. When I wrote "Forbidden Ones" it was for a short story contest. I had a deadline, and I probably didn't do the story the justice that needed doing.
So I'll be looking to work on that here in a few weeks. I just need to go through it and pick out the expansions, and see where I can take it from there.
I saw The Space Between Us last night. It was a good movie. Not nearly as good as the previews made it look, but I guess that's the job of the previews. I think my biggest issue was that they spent too much time on the government side of it and not enough on the romantic cuteness. I went there for that, not the government side though I do understand why it was all important and stuff.
